So I totally dropped the ball on buying Poppy’s first christmas ornament last year. Mostly because I couldn’t find one that I truly loved. Nothing had that personal loving touch that I was looking for. So when I came across Ordinary Mommy’s etsy shop I knew my search was over. Poppy has been loving owls lately, so choosing the owl ornament was an easy decision. Though, I have to say if I could have I would have gotten one of each.
As soon as we opened the box Poppy uttered very excitedly, “owl, owl, owl,” and asked to snuggle the sweet little bird. Every morning since then she has found it on the tree and points and smiles at it! This ornament was so well made and is beautiful beyond words. Honestly, these pictures do not do it justice. I can say without a doubt that it is heirloom quality, which is important because I hope to pass it down to her someday. I also really appreciated the fact that it could be personalized with both Poppy’s initials and the year. Many of the other ornaments I had found only did one or the other. It also has a tiny pocket on the back. Ryan and I plan to write a petite love note, hopefully, for Poppy to happen upon one day.
Just by looking at the packaging you can tell that this mommy truly cares about her customers. She put so much effort and love into even the smallest detail. On top of all this it was made by hand in Pennsylvania of natural wool felt…win, win, win, and win.
This is one of those instances where I am so happy that I procrastinated because there is no way anything else would have been this perfect! I look forward to many years of seeing this owl adorn our family tree and to all the cheery memories it will bring Poppy when she has it hanging on her own tree someday!
